High profile business leader, Steve Davidson has announced he will not seek re-election as President and Board Member of Hunter Business Chamber.
Mr Davidson, the principal and founder of Davidson Accountants, has been a Director of the Chamber and of its predecessor, Newcastle Regional Chamber of Commerce, for the past 14 years.
He will stand down at the Annual General meeting in October.
Mr Davidson said that his business interests had grown substantially in the past year and that his wife, Tanya, had also taken on anew business challenge.
“I have always been someone to commit 100 per cent when I take on a position and have difficulties if I am not able to meet this standard.
“I will not be able to devote the time and effort and resources to meet the obligations of this demanding position of President of the Chamber. Working for the interests of my colleagues in business is immensely satisfying but if I cannot give what I consider is needed then I owe it to them to step down. “
